Welcome to Springs

Hi, I'm Colleen and I run Springs, an Ofsted registered childcare setting offering childcare from 12 months old to 5 years old.

I work from my home in St Leonards on sea, with a dedicated floor offering space for learning through play, as well as an art studio (currently under construction!) where children can be creative in a way that suits them.

We have a bright and engaging playroom where children are able to play freely, activities are set up for the children and often follow a theme, which changes regularly.

We have a quiet room, where children can role play with our home corner, have a story read to them and are able to nap peacefully if they wish.

Our home is a 5 minute walk from the beach and we are just a 2 minute walk to our local park (Gensing Gardens).

To find out more please take a look through our website and if you think we could be the right setting for your child please contact to arrange a visit.

Our website is just a peek into our setting, when you arrange a visit you will be provided with a welcome pack with lots more information.

Our Ethos

We believe each child is an individual who sees the world in their own way.

With this in mind we offer space where children can express themselves freely and should we find their behaviour challenging we would first ask "what in the environment is contributing to this behaviour?"

We do not believe in punishments and consider our setting to be 'gentle'.

We encourage talking and recognise children can have strong emotions that they are not yet capable of managing, therefore we keep our expectations of what a child can achieve and provide patience and love to help guide them through moments of difficulty rather then lowering our expectations.

We believe children can achieve great things with the right support and guidance.

We have had training and experience with neuro-diverse children and consider our setting to be inclusive.

For more information on behaviour please feel free to contact Colleen to discuss or ask questions. Our behaviour policy is available on request.

We regard ourselves as partners with the children, working alongside to empower them to have confidence in themselves.

We encourage creativity and learning through play.
